Scott County commissioners compare former and revised flood plain maps provided by the Federal Emergency Management Association with Joel Evans, the county's appointed flood plain administrator. FEMA recently sent Evans the new maps, which replace the 1987-1989 ones he had on file.

That's what Joel Evans, flood plain administrator, and county commissioners found on Tuesday after reviewing the 69 updated map pages received by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
"There are some variations," said Evans. He said officials are now comparing the flood classifications to ensure the accuracy of flood classification designations for residents.
For further review, Evans said he has requested electronic copies of the updated maps.
