CHARLESTON -- Mississippi County will move funds from its reserves to ensure it repairs as much distance on its county roads as possible this year.
On Thursday, commissioners held a public hearing for a budget amendment to move $200,000 from its reserve fund to the road and bridge department for the purchase of asphalt materials. County Clerk Junior DeLay called it a "simple amendment."
Presiding Commissioner Jim Blumenberg asked what the balance would be after the transfer. DeLay said that would bring the balance down to approximately $211,500.
