East Prairie picks up first win

EAST PRAIRIE -- Led by Aaron Miller's 21 carries for 145 yards on the ground, East Prairie made quick work of the visiting Grandview Eagles, winning 41-8 to improve to 1-1 on the season.

Only attempting four passes on the night, East Prairie score all six of its touchdowns on the ground, including Zach Shipman's 2-yard touchdown run at the goal line to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead with 9:41 left in the first quarter.

Opening up a sizable lead in the second quarter, Connor Scott break through on a quarterback sneak from 1-yard out with 10:50 left in the half, followed up by two touchdown runs from Miller and one from Shipman to push the lead to 34-0 at the half.

After East Prairie added one more touchdown late in the third to push the game to 41-0, Grandview finally ended the shutout.

With 9.2 seconds left in the fourth, Grandview quarterback Andrew Holland fired a 10-yard pass to Macklin Parks in the end zone, followed by Cody Voyles adding the final two points rushing for the two-point conversion.
