7 individuals, two teams set to be inducted at Friday game

SIKESTON -- Seven individuals and two teams will be the latest honorees added to the Sikeston R-6 Honor Wall and Hall of Fame during the 15th annual ceremony set to take place at halftime of Friday's Sikeston Bulldogs and Jackson Indians football game.

The Sikeston R-6 Honor Wall recognizes individuals and teams for their service and achievement to the district while the Hall of Fame recognizes athletes and teams who have received state honors or beyond. Past graduates must be out of school for at least five years before being eligible for nomination.

This years Honor Wall recipients are former district educator, Dr. Larry Bohannon; and 2005 graduate, Chelsea Grigery.

Hall of Fame honorees are John Robert "J.R." Bizzell, Cornelius Blow, Johnny Longstreet Jr., Billy Puckett and Jamie Puckett. Teams to be inducted into the Hall of Fame are the 2003-2004 baseball team and the 2005-2006 cheerleading team.

Since its beginning about 135 individuals and 24 teams have been inducted into both the Hall of Fame and Honor Wall.
