NMCC 8th grade blasts Bluejays

CHARLESTON -- The New Madrid County Central eighth grade romped the Charleston Bluejays 44-8 on Thursday at Charleston High School.

NMCC scored six rushing touchdowns by five different players.

Drew Palmer scored on a 2-yard run, Vontre Jones added a 28-yard run, Willie Jimmerson had a 7-yard run while Harvey Brown scored on an 11-yard run. NMCC's TJ Clark broke off two scores for the Eagles one, a 5-yard score, and the other, a 57-yard scamper.

Charleston's lone score was a 40-yard run.

The Eagles (3-1-1) will travel to Cape Girardeau to take on the Tigers on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
