ORAN -- The Oran Lady Eagles matched their 10 hits against Cape Central on Saturday with 10 errors giving the Lady Tigers plenty of second chances as Oran dropped a 7-6 game at Oran High School.

All of Cape Central's runs were unearned as Oran starting pitcher Morgan Todt was given no help in her seven innings of work. Todt allowed six hits and walked three as she took the hard luck loss.

Not being able to overcome their numerous blunders, Oran pounded out 10 hits as Abbey Anderson, Halle Woodfin, Addie Kielhofner and Todt all had two apiece. Todt drove in two runs trying to help her own cause.

The Lady Eagles were handed an early 5-1 deficit through the first two innings. The battled back with three runs in the third and two more in the fifth. However, more errors in the fourth gave Cape Central two more runs.

Kadie Orenstein picked up the win for Cape Central also going the distance of seven innings.

Destiny Whitney led the Lady Tigers with two hits while Lexi Smith had two RBI.

Oran (7-12) will begin district play Thursday, although the Class 1, District 1 tournament will begin on Thursday. Both Naylor and Oran, the No. 1 and 2 seeds of the tournament, will receive first round bye's, as Neelyville and Delta will open the tournament on Wednesday at 2 p.m. followed by Chaffee and Van Buren 20 minutes after the first game.
