KENNETT -- Sikeston dropped their best-of-nine district semifinal match 5-0 to Kennett on Tuesday afternoon, eliminating the Lady Bulldogs from the team Class 1, District 1 Tennis Tournament.

"Kennett has a very strong team and should contend for the team district title," said Sikeston coach Russ Dial. "Even though we didn't win today, we were very proud of the way we went out. Each team member played hard and to the best of their abilities and we finished the season strong as a team."

The season isn't over for the Lady Bulldogs as they will participate in the individual district tournament at Sikeston on Thursday.

"We still have positive expectations concerning the individual districts," Dial said.
