Lesson in the past

Matthews Elementary School in Sikeston celebrated Sikeston's 150th birthday Tuesday by recreating their own "one-room school house." Students in first through fourth grades were mixed together in the classroom with teachers and many of the students dressing in period costume. Trish Jenkins explains to the students what education was like in the 1800s as the students examine a photo of a one-room school house.
