NEW MADRID -- The New Madrid County Central eighth grade football team finished their season with a record of 4-1-1 after a 28-8 win over Cape Central earlier this week.

NMCC started the scoring with a 33 yard run by T.J. Clark and the conversion was no good.

Trailing 8-6, the Eagles went back on top for good when Drew Palmer ran in from three yards out and then tossed a two-point conversion pass to Brenton James to make the score 14-8.

NMCC scored again in the third quarter when T.J. Clark scored from two yards out and Vontre Jones added the two-point conversion, making the score 22-8.

Palmer added the final score for the Eagles on a one-yard quarterback sneak and the try failed.
