EAST PRAIRIE -- Both the seventh and eighth grade Sikeston girls basketball teams notched victories on Thursday night at East Prairie.
The seventh grade, paced by Hayly Chapman and Mercade Campbell's eight points apiece, held East Prairie scoreless in the first half, 22-0, on their way to a 32-12 final.
The eighth grade was able to outscore East Prairie 8-4 in the final quarter to come out on top, 24-18.
Both Sikeston coaches, Summer Ray and Keith Blissett, pointed to their team's defense as the key to victory.
