The observance of Red Ribbon Week will be in full swing this week in the Sikeston R-6 School District. Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. Students at Southeast Elementary School in Sikeston kicked off the activities with a parade and a display of their winning posters. Comparing their posters prior to the parade's beginning are, from left: Nayi Walters, Analiese Arrendondo, McKenna Jenkins and Karson Tolle.
