MINER -- A raise for the next person elected as Miner's city collector was shot down by the mayor.
"I don't really feel there should be any raises given in the city," Mayor Frank Tatum said during the regular monthly Miner Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday.
Tatum suggested adding a second week of vacation instead.
Peggy Holman, board member, said the city should bump up the hourly rate from $13 per hour to $15.
"The cost of living has gone up," she said, adding that other raises have already been given.
