BENTON -- A change of software in the Scott County Assessor's Office has resulted in some taxpayers having additional personal property showing up in county records.
"Vehicle discrepancies have been found on some tax bills," Scott County Collector Mark Hensley said Tuesday. "Some vehicles have been found to have been assessed twice. Please look over your 2010 personal property tax statements and make sure that all the property listed on the statement is correct. If the data is not correct, please contact the Scott County Assessor's Office as soon as possible."
