PORTAGEVILLE -- Though their roster includes nine juniors and sophomores, this year's Portageville Lady Bulldog squad looks to have plenty of veteran leadership on the floor as they return four starting seniors from last year.
Those seniors, Janika McIntyre, Katelyn Jackson, Brooke Johnson and Emily Delisle, helped guide the Lady Bulldogs to a 5-17 finish in their junior campaign.
With those starters as well as the rest of the team having another year of playing time to build on, Portageville head coach Barry Branscum is hopeful his team use what they learned last season to finish with to improve on last year's win total.
"This year looks better because we have a lot of experience under our belt from last season," Branscum said. "We have an excited group that is looking forward to getting the season underway."
