CHAFFEE -- Returning five starters from last year's squad, the Chaffee Red Devils have high hopes of improving on last season's 6-15 mark.
Key to those hopes will be the continued strong play Michael Rutherford and Alex Crowe, two of last year's leading scorers for the Red Devils.
Both Rutherford and Crowe averaged 12 points per game for Chaffee with Rutherford also contributing 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game game while Crowe shot 46% from three-point range and collected 2.5 assists per game.
With eight of the team's nine players seeing valuable minutes on the varsity level last year, Red Devils head coach Josh Govreau said he expects his team to have good depth with a rotation of five guards and four bigs.
