HOLCOMB -- The Risco Tigers won the consolation championship of the Holcomb Invitational on Friday night, defeating Tri-County rival Campbell 60-50.
Both teams started out slow with the Tigers taking a 25-23 lead into halftime. Risco then began to pull away in the third before putting the game away late in the fourth.
"It was good to get a win over a Tri-County rival," said Risco coach Brandon Blankenship. "We started slow and never really got it going offensively like we need to, but we had a solid effort defensively."
Risco's Jeremy Fowler led the Tigers with 19 points, picking up the scoring slack from all-tournament selection Chris Pavy who spent a good deal of the game in foul trouble. Pavy finished with 15 points while Luke Bixler added 13.
Risco (2-1) will be back in action Tuesday when they host the Oran Eagles.
Bernie won the championship of the tournament, defeating Twin Rivers 58-45 while Bloomfield claimed third place, defeating Holcomb 46-40. Puxico downed East Prairie in the seventh place game 66-62.
