LILBOURN -- For nearly 70 years, a Lilbourn Methodist church has brought multiple denominations under one church roof during its annual Christmas Vesper Service.
To the program's conductor, Betty Joyce Dambach of Lilbourn, all the churches coming together is what makes the program a blessing to the community.
"We don't worship together during the year, but we leave our denominations outside the door and all come together in one spirit with our love to sing and sing praises to the Lord," said Dambach, who will conduct her 29th service on Sunday.
Set for 4 p.m. Sunday at Lilbourn's United Methodist Church, this year's service will feature several soloists and instrumentalists. It will conclude with "Silent Night" being played on the flute.
