Notre Dame knocks off Meadow Heights in finals

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Scott City Lady Rams could not bounce back from a 19-point third quarter from the Cape Central Lady Tigers on Wednesday leaving Cape Central as the consolation champions at the Show Me Center Holiday Classic in a 48-35 loss.

Scott City (7-2) held a slim 17-16 lead at halftime but the Lady Tigers out-scored them 32-18 in the second half.

Katie Hogan had a team-high 11 points for the Lady Rams while Stacey Heisserer added 10.

Hogan was also named to the all-tournament team.

Notre Dame 63, M. Heights 61

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Notre Dame Lady Bulldogs overcame a 44-39 deficit after three quarters only to rally back and defend their Show Me Center Holiday Classic championship with a 63-61 win.

Meadow Heights, who came in the tournament as the No. 5 seed, knocked off the No. 1 seeded Farmington Lady Knights to advance to the title game.

Jackson came away with a third-place finish with a 69-54 win over Farmington on Wednesday.

The Lady Indians out-scored Farmington 24-14 in the fourth quarter sealing the victory.

The Perryville Lady Pirates took care of the Saxony Lutheran Lady Crusaders 58-37 in the seventh place game.
