CARUTHERSVILLE -- A wrong number proved costly for a Caruthersville man Tuesday.
About 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, a Caruthersville police officer received a phone call from a man who unknowingly dialed the wrong number and attempted to sell some hydrocodone pills, according to a news release from the police department. The officer -- realizing the man had the wrong number -- continued to talk to him and agreed to purchase the prescription medication.
