Sikeston and SCC both sit atop poll

SIKESTON -- The first Associated Press prep basketball rankings of the season were released today and the Sikeston Bulldogs find themselves in the top spot in Class 4.

Sporting a 12-0 record including championships in the SEMO Conference Tournament and St. Dominic Christmas Tournament, the Bulldogs reach the top spot for the first time in recent memory.

Scott County Central finds themselves atop the polls in Class 1 with a 10-2 mark with championships in the Oran Invitational and Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament. The Braves only losses came to out of state competition in North Little Rock, Ark. and Chicago Simeon.

The Oran Eagles check in at No. 10 in Class 1 with a 7-3 record while North Pemiscot is No. 8 in Class 1 with a 7-1 record. Kennett (10-1) is ranked No. 9 in Class 3 while Bernie (9-1) is No. 7 in Class 2.
