The Sikeston Kindergarten, Early Childhood Center and Parents as Teachers program will conduct their annual birth to 4 years screening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 27 and 31 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 28 and Feb. 1 at the Kindergarten Center. The free screening will check vision, dental, hearing, speech and developmental areas. Parents must bring their child's immunization record to the screening, which determines who attends Sikeston's 4-year-old Early Childhood program next school year. Children must be screened in order to attend the preschool. If a child is going to be 5 years old by July 31, they will be eligible for kindergarten in the fall. Enrollment for kindergarten will be in May. Call 471-0653 to make an appointment.
