R-6 candidate withdraws; race not needed

SIKESTON -- A candidate who filed for re-election to the Sikeston R-6 Board of Education has withdrawn his name from the race.

According to R-6 Board Secretary Pete Burns, current board vice president Ken Stone, whose three-year term ends in April, asked on Tuesday that his name be removed from the ballot of the April 5 election.
