Sikeston girls down Saxony; Risco, SCC win

Kelly boys pick up fourth win of season

JACKSON -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs improved to 14-6 on Friday with a 53-38 road win at Saxony Lutheran.

Asia Liggins scored 20 to lead Sikeston as the Lady Bulldogs grabbed a 17-6 lead in the first quarter and led 30-15 at halftime.

Darquishionna Howard added 11 points for the Lady Bulldogs who will host Jackson in a make-up game on Monday night.

Delta led 25-16 at the half and outscored Woodland 23-9 in the second half.

Risco 75, Hayti 66

RISCO -- The Risco Tigers won their seventh game in-a-row on Friday night, defeating Hayti 75-66.

Despite not having played since last Friday and being able to practice only one day due to the snow, Risco put five players in double figures on their way to improving to 13-6 on the season and 7-1 in the Tri-County Conference.

Chris Pavy 16 led Risco with 16 points while Austin White added 13. Kris Walker and Luke Bixler pumped in 14 points apiece while Jeremy Fowler chipped in 11.

"Kris Walker played a really good game tonight," said Risco coach Brandon Blankenship. "He really stepped up big for us."

Risco will be back in action this week when they take part in the Tri-County Tournament at North Pemiscot. The tournament was not seeded at press time.

KELLY -- The Kelly Hawks used a strong third quarter and came away with Scott-Miss Conference win over East Prairie 67-51 on Friday night.

Kelly led 28-21 at halftime but pulled away in the third to take a 47-32 lead into the final quarter.

Trey Drury scored 20 points for Kelly (4-12) while Ian Householder chipped in 12 points. Garrett Alsup and Gabe Felter each had 11 for the Hawks.

Connor Scott led East Prairie (2-16) with 14 points while Ryan Mathis added 10 points.

HAYWOOD CITY -- The Scott County Central Braves improved to 19-2 on the season with an 87-46 win over Oran on Friday night.

Otto Porter scored 31 points, which included five thunderous slam dunks in the first quarter and a 80-foot heave to end the first half with Scott Central ahead 46-23. Porter also grabbed seven rebounds and had six steals in the game while going 13-for-18 from the field.

Stewart Johnson added 16 points for the Braves while Dominique Porter added 12.

Jon Morrow had 21 points to pace Oran (14-7) while Nolan Urhahn added 11.
