Kindergarten isn't just about ABCs, colors and shapes


SIKESTON -- As parents enroll children in kindergarten this spring, some parents may be surprised as they find kindergarten isn't just about ABCs, colors and shapes.

"Today's kindergartners start reading books, and they do counting, math, science and social studies," said Cheri Klipfel, teaching assistant and Parents as Teachers educator for Kelly Elementary.
