Risco routs Marquand; Chaffee wins in OT

Portageville rallies past Scott City 71-57

MARQUAND -- Led by 22 points from Chris Pavy, the Risco Tigers got their 16th win of the season Tuesday night with an 89-45 win over Marquand.

"It's good to get a win on the road," Risco head coach Brandon Blankenship said. "Marquand is a tough place to play"

Scoring over 20 points in all four quarters, the Tigers built a comfortable 17-point lead going into halftime before adding another nine points to their advantage in the third.

Icing the game, Risco score another 22 points in the fourth quarter while Marquand to only four.

Four Tigers posted scoring totals in the double-digits on the night, including Pavy (22), Austin White (17), Jordan Pavy (13) and Luke Bixler (11).

Now at 16-7, Risco will travel to Senath to play the Lions this Thursday with junior varsity action starting at 6 p.m.

CHAFFEE -- The Chaffee Red Devils improved to 13-12 on the season with a 53-52 overtime win over Meadow Heights on Tuesday night.

Chaffee trailed 37-30 entering the final quarter and was able to tie the game at 45-45 at the end of regulation before squeezing out the win in overtime.

Alex Crowe scored 22 points to led the Red Devils while Michael Rutherford added 18, including a 3-pointer that tied the game at the end of regulation.

PORTAGEVILLE -- The Portageville Bulldogs used a strong second half to get past upset-minded Scott City at home on Tuesday night.

Portageville trailed 27-26 at halftime but outscored the Rams 45-30 in the second half to improve to 15-7.

Fred Treadwell led Portageville with 23 points while Jake Young had 15 and Dominique Walker added 12 points.

Zach Cotner led Scott City (8-14) with 19 points and 11 rebounds while Landon Robert finished with 16 points.

CHARLESTON -- The Charleston Bluejays rolled to their 10th win in-a-row with a 109-44 pasting of Doniphan on Tuesday.

Charleston is now 19-5 and will be the top seed in the Class 3, District 1 Tournament held at New Madrid County Central that begins on Saturday.
