BENTON -- Scott County Commissioners approved updated emergency plans for the county and the courthouse during their regular meeting Tuesday.
"One is 300 pages long and the other is about 25," said Amber Scudder, emergency management director for the county.
Scudder said the emergency management director goes over the Scott County Emergency Operations Plan every year with the area's State Emergency Management Agency coordinator.
"It has to be updated yearly," she explained.
In addition to small updates, a medical annex was added to the plan this year.
"There were nine and we added one, so now there's 10 annexes altogether," Scudder said.
For the courthouse emergency operations plan, "I added a color-coded alert system for inside the courthouse to alert all the county offices of different emergencies going on within the building," Scudder said. "I also added a new medical emergency operation plan and updated the organizational chart for each floor due to personnel changes."
