State champs honored

A large crowd filled the Field House on Wednesday evening to celebrate the Sikeston High School basketball team's Class 4 state championship. Sikeston seniors (from left) Janeil Hatchett, Treston Pulley, Corey Porter, Darryl Howard and Will Holifield watch as the final seconds tick off of the Class 4 state championship game that was being shown on the big screen. In the background, Sikeston students do a cheer while Bulldog coaches (seated) watch as well. Sikeston players were driven into the Field House on golf carts as they were announced and were given a plaque to commemorate their title. The seniors were also given framed jerseys while coach Gregg Holifield was given a chair signed by the team.
