RISCO -- Although the once held a five-run lead, the Risco Tigers couldn't hold off the visiting Malden Green Wave on Tuesday, eventually falling 19-9.
The Tigers pushed across seven runs in the first two innings while surrendering just two to Malden. The Green Wave answered, however, with six runs in the third and eight runs in the fourth putting them in firm control.
"We had three errors in the third inning and more in the fourth," Risco head coach Brandon Blankenship said. "We didn't field well at all."
Despite their fielding woes, Blankenship noted the Tigers hit the ball probably as best as they have all year pounding out 10 hits.
Caleb McCord, Chris Pavy, Zack Brannon and Brandon Bixler each had two hits for Risco (5-5).
Malden's Kyle Lemarr led the Green Wave with three hits including a double and a home run. Tyler Golden also had three hits while Mitchell Coleman, Tanner Murphy and Jordan McMunn all chipped in two.
