COOTER -- The Oran Eagles will face a familiar foe during their Class 1, Sectional 1 game.
The Eagles (20-2) will square off against the Cooter Wildcats for a chance to move on in the post season.
"They're a good ball club," Oran head coach Mitch Wood said. "I should be an interesting ball game."
This will be the fourth meeting since 2006 between the two Class 1, baseball powerhouses in the sectional round. They met three-straight times between the 2006 and 2008 seasons.
Oran has history on their side, however, winning the last three. They have outscored the Wildcats 29-8 with their closest game being 3-0 in 2007.
Cooter (18-4) has won their last six district championships. Their previous came off a 4-0 win against Holcomb on Wednesday.
Oran, who defeated Bernie 13-9 on Wednesday as well, won their first since the 2008 season.
Since 2006, only once has Oran or Cooter not been in the final four, with that coming in 2007.
With the similarities of winning traditions between the two programs, Wood has been close with one Wildcat in particular.
Cooter's Jordan Anderson played for Wood's Missouri Bulls prospect team last summer.
"I'm familiar with (Anderson) and I've got a pretty good idea of what they bring," Wood said. "(Anderson) played for my prospect team and he was a pretty good player for us."
Anderson pitched six innings of scoreless ball against Holcomb in their district final.
The first pitch between Oran and Cooter is expected at 4 p.m. on Monday at Cooter.
