Fifth grade students in Jaclyn Reaves' classroom use laptops, which -- unlike elementary school -- are available for use in all classrooms at the Sikeston Fifth and Sixth Grade Center. As the milestone school year comes to a close for the fifth graders, they're better prepared for the rest of the school year and even have some advice for next year's incoming class.

SIKESTON -- When the first day of fifth grade approached last August, Krissi McAffee said she was nervous.
"I knew some people, but there were a lot of new faces," Krissi said. "I didn't get to meet my teacher before school started so I was nervous and scared."
