SIKESTON -- The Federal Emergency Management Association will hold public assistance applicant briefings around the area this week.
"This is for public assistance, anyone that is a school, city, public road/ditch district -- anyone that is a business or organization for the public," said Amber Scudder, emergency management director in Scott County. "This is when they put in a claim for federal money, just like calling FEMA for individual assistance."
Locally, a briefing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mississippi County Library, 105 E. Marshall in Charleston. This meeting is open to all, not just those who live within the county.
