CHARLESTON -- The Charleston Squirrels took two games from their in-town rival, the Charleston Woodpeckers, on Thursday night at Hillhouse Park in Charleston.
The Squirrels beat the Woodpeckers 14-5 in the first game and 10-0 in the second.
Dustin Johnson picked up the win on the mound for the Squirrels while Zach Downing took the loss.
In game two, Kamryn Johnson got the win for the Squirrels while Casey Tatum was the loser for the Woodpeckers.
The Woodpeckers (4-10) will play next on Monday when they travel to Portageville to take on New Madrid County at 6 p.m. The Squirrels (9-11) will host the Cape Girardeau Junior Legion squad at 6 p.m. at Hillhouse Park.
