DPS responds to vandalism, meth lab explosion over weekend

SIKESTON -- Early Sunday morning was busy for the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the window of a Sikeston Department of Public Safety patrol car was broken by a rock near the intersection of William and Coleman streets.

A police all-call followed, and a total of 13 individuals, some juveniles, were arrested.

Earlier, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Sikeston Department of Public Safety was called to the Midtowner Motel in reference to a blown-up meth lab. One man was badly burned as a result of the explosion. The Haz-Mat team also responded to the incident.
