JACKSON -- The Jackson Senior Babe Ruth baseball team swept a doubleheader at home over Metropolis, Ill., on Friday.
Jackson (13-9) won the first game 4-3 as Jesse Long pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and striking out four. Spencer Sander had two hits in the game including a two-RBI triple in the first inning for Jackson.
Jackson completed the sweep over Metropolis with a 7-5 win in the nightcap. Ethan Dambach picked up the pitching win for Jackson, allowing five hits and striking out six in the game. Jon Winkler came on to earn the save on the mound. Jackson had only three hits in the game but were helped by 11 Metropolis walks.
Jackson will next play on Tuesday against Dexter in a doubleheader at Saxony Lutheran High School at 4 p.m.
