The Sikeston Public Library will take youngsters to Italy and Africa as well as to London and Mexico during the weeks of the annual summer reading program. Activities began this week with children in grades 3-5 meeting Tuesday afternoon and hearing the Italian story, "Strega Nona: Her Story," coloring a mosaic and enjoying pizza. Activities will continue through Aug. 3 with children ages 2-5 meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday; those in kindergarten through second grade in session from 1:30-3 p.m. Mondays; 3-5 graders gathering from 1:30-3 p.m. Tuesdays; and a teen reading program from 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesdays.
