Jackson SBR sweeps Scott City Thursday

JACKSON -- The Jackson Senior Babe Ruth team swept a doubleheader against Scott City on Thursday 12-2 and 14-5.

Clay Roth got the win in the first game for Jackson, going the distance while allowing two runs and five hits, walking two and striking out three. Hunter Cox took the loss for Scott City.

Roth also paced Jackson's 10-hit attack with two hits. Spencer Sander and Jon Winkler also had to hits and Jesse Schott added a home run.

In the 14-5 win in the second game, Schott took the win for Jackson pitching the first four innings allowing one run and two hits, striking out three.

Alex Beussink and Sander both had two hits apiece to lead the 10-hit attack for Jackson.

Jackson (17-11), who has played 14 games in the last 14 days, will get a well-deserved four days off and will be in action again on Tuesday when they play at Chaffee with a doubleheader scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
