Cub Scouts learning much at Day Camp

Cubs Scouts, under the guidance of a Boy Scout volunteer, created a human foosball game during Thursday's Cub Scout Day Camp. Organizers called this year's 15 adults along with the 10 Boy Scout volunteers are a fantastic group but added they are always looking for more volunteers to assist with the programs.

SIKESTON - The cowboy with his hat slightly tilted on his head and bandana tied around his neck eyed the rifle just out of reach. His trigger finger was itching to get a hold of the gun and fire off a few rounds.

But first came the rules of proper gun etiquette and a polite request to enter the range before he got his chance to fire a few rounds with the BB gun in one of several activities at Thursday's Cub Scout Day Camp.

This year's Day Camp, which ends Saturday, is a mixture of adventure, friendships and learning the Cub Scouting core values such as compassion, cooperation and responsibility.
