"We wanted to get a high-energy act for Friday and Saturday night," said Craig Templeton, the entertainment director for the Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo. Templeton explained Green is a good fit because "he's a talented act" and "once you hear his music, everyone knows who he is."
With his album "Three Days" nominated for two Grammys, and over two million albums sold in his career so far, Green classified his songs as a "rowdy bunch of country music."
Although he does not use his music to spread a specific message, Green explained: "I just try to write a great song" and "be really truthful about it with myself."
