SIKESTON -- Being general chairman of the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo is a big job -- in essence, the chairman is responsible for overseeing virtually every aspect of the annual event.
But it's one that Cal Crader, who holds the role for the 59th annual Rodeo, which officially kicks off Wednesday, has embraced. And the time has flown by.
"To be honest, March to today has gone by really quick," he said. That is when the entertainment lineup was finalized and announced, and tickets went on sale.
Being chairman is such a big job that it takes an entire year of preparation, serving as co-chairman the prior year.
