MINER -- Miner city officials will try a letter to those owing back taxes to the city before moving forward with a city sticker option.
The Miner Board of Aldermen tabled an ordinance during a special meeting Monday which would require all residents to purchase the stickers and display them on the windshield of vehicles.
Danielle Patrick, city clerk, said there is $1,000 in city personal property tax that went unpaid last year alone.
"The city has lost a lot of money on that," Mayor Frank Tatum said.
Tatum suggested giving the stickers away for free upon the full payment of city taxes.
