Sikeston man arrested on drug charges in Portageville

PORTAGEVILLE - A Sikeston man is in custody following his arrest early today on drug-related charges.

Ross Baker, 23, is being held at the New Madrid County Jail, pending the filing of formal charges by the New Madrid County Prosecutor Lewis Recker.

At 2:45 a.m. today a Portageville Police officer on bicycle patrol along East Fifth Street, observed a man walking. Because of a recent rash of storage shed burglaries, the officer made contact with the man, according to a news release issued by Police Chief Ronnie Adams.
