SIKESTON -- The city of Sikeston and Sikeston R-6 school officials are examining a traffic problem at Southeast Elementary School.
Complaints surrounding the afternoon pick up of students at Southeast Elementary prompted the examination of traffic issues at Ables Road and Glenn Drive, according to Lt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
"Several citizens and parents of the students were concerned with the safety of this intersection from 2:45 p.m. until 4 p.m. on days when school is in session," McMillen said. "During this time this area is heavily congested with vehicles as many parents are lining up to pick up their elementary students from school."
