Risco shuts out Naylor 4-0

NAYLOR -- Backed by a complete game shutout from starter Jordon Pavy on Tuesday, the Risco Tigers defeated Naylor 4-0.

Taking the lead on a two-run rally in the fourth inning, the Tigers then added a run in both the sixth and seventh frames to make up the final.

All the while, Pavy held Naylor batters to only two hits while striking out six. He faced the minimum number of batters thanks to the Tigers defense turning three double plays on the contest.

"Jordon just threw great," Risco coach Brandon Blankenship said. "He got ahead in the count and was efficient, We played excellent defense behind them as well, especially third baseman Austin White who started two of our double plays."

On offense, Chris Pavy went 2 for 4 with a triple while Matt Cummins reached three times with a triple and two walks.

Now at 3-4, Risco will host South Pemiscot on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

SOFTBALL

Jackson 7, Oran 3

JACKSON -- The Oran Lady Eagles softball team fell 7-3 on the road against the Jackson Lady Indians on Tuesday.

Morgan Todt took the loss for Oran who scored all three of their runs in the third inning.

Chrissy Sauceda, Abrianna Jones and Taylor Nenninger all had two hits apiece for Oran while Sauceda added a double and Todt contributed a triple to the mix.

Oran will host Clearwater today at 4 p.m.

Delta 16, East Prairie 1

DELTA -- The Delta Lady Bobcats improved to 3-4 after a 16-1 win over East Prairie on Tuesday.

Delta pitcher Myra Henson picked up the win allowing only one hit. The Lady Bobcats pounded out nine hits with Tori Burton, Chasity Taylor and Rachel Birkman all going 2 for 3.

VOLLEYBALL

Dexter 2, Cape Central 0

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Dexter Lady Bearcats volleyball team continued it's unbeaten streak on Tuesday evening with a two-set victory over Cape Central.

Dexter easily defeated the Lady Tigers 25-12 in the first set, but faced a bit of resistance in the second with a 26-24 win.
