ORAN -- The Oran Lady Eagles fell behind early and was never able to recover.
The Clearwater Lady Tigers scored five runs in the first two innings to snag a solid lead which eventually led to a 6-3 win over Oran on Wednesday.
"That's when we made a couple miscues with runners in scoring position," Oran coach Wade Sanders said about the first few innings. "We had an error and that brought a few in. They hit the ball hard and in the hole. For every hit we had it seemed like every other one we had was right at someone."
Both squads had nine hits on the day but Oran failed to execute when it mattered the most.
"We left several on base and we've had the problem the last couple of games," said Sanders.
Morgan Todt took the loss for Oran (4-4).
Mollie McConnell, Chrissy Sauceda and Courtney Scheeter all had two hits. Bailey Carlyle, Sauceda and McConnell each added doubles to their total as well.
