BROSELEY -- Although the Kelly Lady Hawks committed four defensive errors in key situations, they still pulled out a 7-5 win over the Twin Rivers Lady Royals on Tuesday.
"We just have to get tighter," Kelly coach Rhonda Ratledge said. "There were only three earned runs and a lot of two out errors. We've been struggling to get that third out for some reason.
"(Twin Rivers) did put it in play on us, but we just have to get tighter on defense."
The Lady Royals grabbed an early 1-0 lead after the first inning, but Kelly rallied for three runs in the top of the second. They continued to push runs across the plate with one in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
The Lady Hawks (8-2) ended the game with nine hits while Twin Rivers totaled 12.
Emily Grojean led Kelly with a 3 for 4 performance at the dish that included a triple. Jessica Worth went 2 for 3 with a triple and double while driving in two runs.
Jade Rampley, Kristi Brucher, Samantha Ratledge and Marisa Menz each had one hit for Kelly.
