SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs tennis team used strong singles play to defeat visiting Charleston on Tuesday afternoon.

Sikeston won four of five singles matches on their way to a 5-2 victory against the Lady Bluejays.

"Thanks to our singles play today we were able to pull off a win against a district opponent," said Sikeston coach Russ Dial. "Our girls played defensively and allowed their opponents to commit the unforced errors."

Sikeston will host Caruthersville today.
