BENTON -- Having a courthouse county residents can be proud of is something that shouldn't be taken for granted.

"I'm so very proud of how our courthouse looks on the outside and on the inside," said Jamie Burger, Scott County's presiding county commissioner. "That doesn't happen without a lot of hard work and a caring staff that want it to continue to look that way and I think that is what Don Jones exemplifies."

Jones, county maintenance supervisor, has shouldered that responsibility since March 1, 1998.

"We've been very blessed that he has stayed with us," Burger said. "He's sincere about his job and proud of how the courthouse looks. I appreciate what he does."

And Jones does a lot.
