SIKESTON -- The shorthanded Sikeston tennis team fell to Kennett 9-0 on damp Thursday afternoon, giving the Lady Indians the top seed in the upcoming district tournament.

"Several JV players had to step up in rank today due to illness hitting our varsity team," said Sikeston coach Russ Dial. "Kennett has a team that you need to be full strength against, even to stay close."

Sikeston will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Charleston.
