Dexter spoils Lady Bulldogs' home finale

SIKESTON -- Despite a big win from Kelsey Dial in singles competition on Wednesday, the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs' tennis team couldn't keep up with the Dexter Lady Bearcats, falling 8-1 in their last home match of the season.

"Kelsey avenged an earlier season loss against their No. 1 to continue her strong play of late," Sikeston coach Russ Dial said. "The rest of the team struggled against a tough district opponent and the loss of No. 2 player, Martha Neel, didn't help out the situation."

Sikeston will look to rebound when they travel to Kennett to play the Lady Indians today at 4 p.m.
