Briefly: Charleston football team blasts East Prairie, 51-21

EAST PRAIRIE -- The Charleston Bluejays defeated the East Prairie Eagles 51-21 in the opening week of Class 2 District 1 play.

Trailing 21-19 after two straight East Prairie scores midway through the second quarter, the Bluejays took the lead on a 51-yard run from Jamaul Gray with 4:27 left in the half. On their next possession, Rontavious Clark scored his third touchdown of the game on a 36-yard run to put Charleston up 33-21 going into the break.

Scoring another three touchdowns in the second half while holding the Eagles scoreless, Charleston picked up their fourth win of the season.
